MapaMap 5.0 REAL 3D NAVIGATION

Many companies have been working on REAL 3D imaging of buildings and other objects in GPS navigation systems, but first consumer quality product on European market is MapaMap 5.0 navigation software. It offers such features not only for a handful of city’s landmarks, but for all buildings. MapaMap 5.0 innovation shows primarily in the efficient data processing algorithms that have been developed and enabled true representation of cities in the currently available GPS devices with the introduction of REAL 3D building models. IMAGIS (MapaMap producer) managed to overcome both problems: insufficient computing power of small, portable GPS devices and challenges of implementing complex 3D structures in digital maps. Users of the MapaMap 5.0 software can navigate among 3D buildings which provide them with much better orientation in the field than the 3D view that has been used in the currently available GPS systems. MapaMap 5.0 available on Polish market offers REAL 3D navigation for 11 large Polish towns: Białystok, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Łódź, Katowice, Kraków, Olsztyn, Poznań, Tarnów, Wrocław, Warszawa. MapaMap 5.0 for PND navigation devices is available from November, 2007. MapaMap 5.0 Pocket PC will be available soon.
